Laura Broome
Laura practised as a criminal barrister before she joined us as a Lecturer in Law in 2024. She teaches across a range of subjects at LLB, Master's and Degree Apprenticeship levels. In addition to teaching, Laura also supervises dissertations in criminal law and practice.
Laura practised as a criminal barrister at 18 St John Street Chambers, Manchester before she joined us as a Lecturer in Law in November 2024.
Having been called to the Bar in 2019, Laura developed a busy Crown Court practice prosecuting and defending a wide range of cases including firearms, drugs, violence and sexual offences.
Prior to this, Laura worked at Tuckers Solicitors as a criminal defence litigator for a number of years. Laura also spent a summer in Texas at a public defender service working on capital murder cases, for which she was awarded the International Intern Award by Middle Temple Young Barrister’s Association in 2018.
