About the role:

The Fire Safety Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the University’s commitment to fire safety and compliance across its entire estate. This includes overseeing the internal validation of all building fire risk assessment actions, managing the replacement of all fire doors in Residencies, conducting fire compartmentation surveys for all buildings, developing comprehensive fire strategies, and performing fire safety occupancy assessments. This position ensures the highest standards of safety and compliance are achieved and maintained.

About you:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of relevant Health & Safety and Fire Safety legislation, including RRFSO (2005), BS:9999, Approved Document B, and Building Bulletin 100. They will have experience delivering fire safety awareness training at various levels, conducting fire risk assessments, and implementing remediation actions. A degree in Fire Safety Management, HNC in Building or Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and experience is required, alongside a NEBOSH General Certificate. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in managing fire safety systems, remedial works, and compliance with RRFSO (2005) to ensure the University meets all regulatory requirements.
